同步卫星：（Synchronous satellite）地球同步卫星和太阳同步卫星。
运行周期与行星自转周期相同或轨道平面旋转角速度与行星的公转角速度大致相等的卫星。卫星公转周期与地球自转周期相同的称地球同步卫星，亦称24小时同步卫星。卫星轨道平面的转动角速度与地球绕太阳公转的角速度几乎相等的，称太阳同步卫星。它在全部运行期内以相同的太阳光照条件或在同一当地时间，飞过地球表面的各地区上空，以完成所赋予它的任务。
A satellite whose operating period is the same as the rotation period of the planet or whose orbital plane rotation angular velocity is roughly equal to the common angular velocity of the planet. A satellite whose revolution period is the same as the earth's rotation period is called a geosynchronous satellite, also called a 24-hour synchronous satellite.
