意思解释：（Jia leaf）释迦弟子以迦叶为名者五人，经论中单称迦叶是指摩诃迦叶波，他年高德劭，称为大迦叶。释迦殁后佛教结集三藏时，他是召集人兼首座。中国禅宗又说他是传承佛法的第一代祖师，西土二十八祖之始祖。 借指佛教禅宗。因迦叶被认为是中国禅宗初祖，故称。 佛教指释迦佛以前的过去七佛之一。见《法苑珠林》卷十三。
